Terms of Use

1. Scope and use

These terms cover Japan Jigsaw Puzzle and its support website. A compatible iPhone and iOS version are required. Minors should consult a parent or guardian before purchasing.

2. Free play and advertisements

Puzzles covered by an owned pass are available without entry ads. Unowned eligible puzzles, including Today’s Challenge selected using Japan time, start when a mode is selected and show a standard interstitial before the 1st, 3rd, 5th and other odd-numbered eligible starts. If an ad is unavailable, the puzzle still starts.

3. One-time passes

The All Japan Pass covers the national puzzle with prefecture pieces. Regional passes cover municipality puzzles in the selected region. The Complete Set covers All Japan and all eight regions. Passes remove entry ads in both Easy and Hard modes; hint-ticket ads are separate.

These are non-consumable, one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Active individual passes contribute fixed credits: 300 for All Japan, 200 for Hokkaido, 400 each for Tohoku, Chubu and Chugoku, 500 each for Kanto and Kansai, 300 for Shikoku, and 600 for Kyushu & Okinawa. The retired Okinawa pass contributes 600. Each distinct product ID counts once. The remaining credits out of 1,500 select an upgrade product. Credits are not cash or past payments and cannot be redeemed for money or refunded as excess credit. Confirm the actual price, currency and payment details in the App Store purchase sheet.

When another individual purchase would bring the total to 1,500 or more, the app offers an upgrade instead. Existing active individual purchases totaling at least 1,500 credits, an active Complete Set, or any active upgrade product grant all-region access. If the matching upgrade product is unavailable, purchasing is disabled with no automatic switch to full price.

4. Purchases, restoration and refunds

Apple processes payments. Use the same Apple Account and Restore Purchases in Settings to restore eligible entitlements. Entitlements are separate from locally saved progress and tickets. Refund requests are handled through Apple under applicable conditions. Revoked or refunded purchases are excluded from access and credit calculations. An active upgrade independently grants all-region access, with no automatic additional charge if a base pass is refunded. If the upgrade itself is revoked, access is recalculated from the remaining active purchases.

5. Hint tickets and solution view

A successfully displayed hint uses one ticket. Open the app to receive a two-ticket launch bonus once per day. The first clear of Today’s Challenge on each Japan-calendar day separately grants two tickets, shared across Easy and Hard. The maximum balance is ten; amounts above the limit are not granted or carried over.

Completing a dedicated hint rewarded ad grants two tickets. At nine or ten tickets, earning ads are unavailable because there is insufficient room for the full reward. Entry interstitials do not grant tickets. Tickets have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and are stored locally. Restoration after deletion or device changes is not guaranteed.

The completed solution can be viewed by spending five hint tickets. A clear after viewing the solution still increases the clear count, but it does not update the personal best or submit a score to Game Center.

6. Records, rankings and learning content

Game Center participation can be selected in the app and is subject to Apple terms. One unfinished puzzle is saved on your device for Continue; starting another puzzle replaces that save. Do not tamper with scores, submit fraudulent results or disrupt other users or the service.

Maps are simplified and adjusted for gameplay; islands may be repositioned. They are not suitable for navigation, surveying or boundary decisions. Learning notes, statistics and local highlights reflect referenced dates and do not guarantee current accuracy or examination success. Some learning prose may remain in Japanese even with the English interface.

7. Rights and service changes

App and site content belongs to the operator or the relevant rights holders. Third-party map and other materials remain subject to their source terms; see References & Sources in the app.

Features may change or require maintenance. Material changes will be communicated appropriately. These terms do not limit mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.
